For widow woman, getting all legal documents having her husband’s name is helpful very much necessary. One of the legal document is PAN Card which is required for many financial activities like opening bank accounts, getting or sending payment more than 50,000 Rs. Documents required for New PAN Card for Widow Woman
For New PAN Card application, you have to provide:
- Proof Of Identity
- Proof Of Date Of Birth
- Proof Of Address
For New PAN Card Application, Aadhaar Card is made compulsory. So widow woman should have her husband name mentioned in her Aadhaar card. However, if she does not have husband’s name in Aadhaar Card, then she has to update her Aadhar Card by visiting nearest UIDAI Aadhaar Centre. After updating Aadhaar Card with husband name, she can apply for New PAN Card.

- Aadhaar Card
- Birth certificate issued by the municipal authority
- Mark sheet of recognised board
- Affidavit sworn before a magistrate stating the date of birth
- Voter ID or Election Card
- Matriculation certificate
- Passport
- Driving License
- Pension payment order
- Domicile certificate issued by the Government
- Photo identity card issued by the Central Government or State Government or Central Public Sector Undertaking or State Public Sector Undertaking
- Central Government Health Service Scheme photo card or Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme photo card
List of valid Proof Of Address documents for PAN:
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID or Election Card
- Driving License
- Passport
- Passport of spouse (husband / wife)
- Landline Telephone or Broadband connection bill (less than 3 months old)
- Consumer gas connection card or book or piped gas bill (less than 3 months old)
- Electricity Bill (less than 3 months old)
- Bank account statement (less than 3 months old)
- Water Bill (less than 3 months old)
- Property Registration Document
- Employer certificate in original
- Depository account statement (less than 3 months old)
- Latest property tax assessment order
- Credit card statement (less than 3 months old)
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Gazetted officer
- Domicile certificate issued by the Government
- Post Office passbook having address of the applicant
- Allotment letter of accommodation issued by the Central Government or State Government of not more than three years old
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Member of Legislative Assembly
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Municipal Councilor
- Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Member of Parliament
Once we have documents ready, we are set to Apply for New PAN Card Online by following steps:
STEP 1: Fill the Form
Open New PAN Card Form by clicking on below button:
Form will look similar to below image:
After opening form, fill up required details.
- Enter Applicant’s Name as per Aadhaar Card.
- Then Enter widow woman’s Father name. Please note here that even after marriage, you have to mention woman’s father name, not father-in-law name.
- Select Aadhaar Card as Name Identity proof. Aadhaar card is compulsory for New PAN Card.
- Now complete the remaining form.
- After completing the form, submit the form.
STEP 2: Upload Documents
On submitting the form, you will be redirected to Verify Details Page. Verify all details that you entered If you made mistake while entering data then you can go back and edit the form details by clicking on “Edit Form”.
If all data entered is correct then you can proceed next to Upload Documents section.
Application will ask to upload documents as per proofs selected in New PAN Card Form. You can upload file in any format like images OR you can just take photo from your mobile camera and upload. If you have existing pdf then you can upload that also.
STEP 3: Payment
After uploading all your documents, submit them. On submission of documents, you will be directed to the payment page. Payment can be done via many online methods like debit card, credit card, Netbanking, wallets like Paytm, Freecharge, Google Pay, UPI etc.
On successful payment, your application will be sent for processing. Generally New PAN Card Application takes about 7 to 12 working days. However, you will receive PAN Card soft copy i.e. e-PAN Card early in email mentioned in the Form that you filled in the first Step-1.
