PNR means Passenger Name Record. When you apply for PAN Card you are given application tracking number.
This PNR number is different and depends on from which portal or agency you have applied for PAN Card. If you have applied from NSDL then this PNR tracking number is called Acknowledgement number. It is 15 digit tracking number starting with N-. If you have applied from UTI then you are given PNR tracking number known as Coupon number. It is 10 digit alpha-numeric number stating with U-.
PAN CARD PNR Status with NSDL Acknowledgement number
NSDL Acknowledgement number is 15 Digit number starting with N-. Follow these steps to track PAN card with this tracking number.

Step 2:
Select “N-” by knowing what your tracking number starts with. Please refer your application receipt.
If your tracking number is for E.g. N-254268132421830 then select “N-“.
Step 3
Enter the tracking number from your application receipt.
Step 4:
Enter code shown in given captcha/image.
Step 5:
Submit then form.
Step 6:
On form submission, your PAN Card Status will be shown.
If PAN card is dispatched then consignment number, as well as details like acknowledgement number, the name of the applicant, dispatch date, expected date of arrival and PAN number is displayed on the pan status page.

UTI is 10 digit Coupon Number E.g. U-X123579865 (X is any alphabet). Follow these steps to track PAN card with this tracking number.
