How to convert Instant PAN Card into Major

If you got Instant PAN Card then you will have only Soft copy of PAN Card downloaded from e-filing portal. In Instant PAN Card, your name as per Aadhaar Card is printed with your date of birth. It also has your Photo as per your Aadhaar Card. However it doesn’t have your Signature and applicant’s father name mentioned on it. To get Major PAN Card which will have your Signature and your latest Photo on it, you need to convert Instant PAN Card into Major PAN Card. It will have Applicant’s Father Name on it also. Major PAN Card will also be printed on Physical Card and then sent to Applicant’s address.

Your PAN Number do not change in this conversion of Instant PAN Card into Major. PAN Number remains same. Also, Major PAN card will have a hologram, which proves that it is genuine PAN Card. It will also have latest QR code printed it.

Lets Convert Instant PAN Card into Major PAN Online

First we need to get all required documents to convert Instant PAN Card into Major.

ID Proof (Any one:

1. Aadhaar Card
2. Original bank certificate on letterhead from the branch (along with the name and stamp of the issuing officer) with the applicant’s fully certified picture and bank account number.
3. The applicant’s photo appears on the pensioner card.
4. Photo card for the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme.
5. License to bear arms.
6. Original certificate of identification signed by a Municipal Councillor.
7. Original signature of a Member of Parliament on a certificate of identification.
8. Ration card with the applicant’s photo on it.
9. The central government, state governments, and public sector undertakings all issue photo identification cards.
10. Voter ID / Election Card
11. Original certificate of identification signed by a member of the Legislative Assembly.
12. Passport.
13. Card for the Central Government’s Health Scheme.
14. Original certificate of identification signed by a Gazetted officer.
15. Driver’s licence.

Address Proof (Any one):

1. Aadhaar Card
2. Original certificate of identification signed by a member of the Legislative Assembly.
3. Driving License
4. Spouse’s passport (husband/wife).
5. A bank account statement that is less than three months old is acceptable.
6. Statement from a depository account that is less than three months old.
7. A bill for a landline or broadband connection that is less than three months old.
8. The most recent electricity bill is less than three months old.
9. A credit card statement that is less than three months old is acceptable.
10. Voter ID / Election Card
11. The government issues a certificate of domicile.
12. The most recent order of property tax assessment.
13. Original signature of a Member of Parliament on a certificate of identification.
14. Original certificate of identification signed by a Gazetted officer.
15. The most recent water bill is less than three months ago.
16. Original certificate from the employer.
17. Gas connection card, book, or piped gas bill for the general public.
18. The applicant’s address is recorded in the post office passbook.
19. Passport.

Birth Date Proof (Any one):

1. Aadhaar Card is a unique identification card issued by the government of India.
2. Passport.
3. Ex-Servicemen Photo card for the Contributory Health Scheme.
4. Order for payment of the pension.
5. Driver’s licence.
6. Card for the Central Government’s Health Scheme.
7. Certificate of Marriage
8. Birth certificate.
9. The central government, state governments, and public sector undertakings all issue photo identification cards.
10. Affidavit showing the date of birth, sworn before a magistrate.
11. Voter ID / Election Card
12. Certificate of matriculation or a mark sheet from a recognised board.
13. The government issues a certificate of domicile.

Now enter all details in form:

1. Enter your existing Instant PAN Card number and choose PAN Card proof.
2. Enter the Applicant’s full name here. This will be the name that appears on your Major PAN Card.
3. Choose the proper ID and date of birth evidence.
4. Now choose the address proof. Please remember that your Major PAN Card will be mailed to the address listed on the address proof.
5. Enter both your phone number and email address.
6. When you’re finished, click the submit button.

If all of your information is correct, proceed to the Submit Documents page by clicking PROCEED NEXT:

Please submit your most current PHOTO and SIGN. Submit your further documents, then pay for your application online. Your application will be forwarded for processing after payment is received. It usually takes 5 to 7 working days to process an Instant PAN to Major PAN Card application. You will, however, get an e-PAN Card, as well as your updated PHOTO and SIGN, at the email address you provided. A physical card will also be delivered to your location via courier.
